The DEIFIL Team located at Póvoa de Lanhoso (Portugal) is working to select, promote, and evaluate beneficial microorganisms able to promote olive tree growth. In the frame of FORECAST, the design and validation of innovative biological solutions that enhance soil health, nutrient use efficiency, and increase agroforestry sustainability is in progress, under the supervision of Andreia Afonso and Rose Sousa. At DEIFIL, olive plants are inoculated with beneficial microorganisms under ex vitro conditions while other in vitro compatibility assays are currently ongoing.
