On June 29th-30th, Anca Macovei (UNIPV Team) visited Prof. Miran Mozetič, who has an international renowned expertise in plasma technology applied to seeds. He is Deputy Director of the PLASMADIS Ltd., an innovative spin out company from the Jožef Stefan Institute. The purpose of Anca’s trip was to establish the bases for innovative experimental activities focused on plasma-based treatments tailored for the FORECAST legume seeds. The target OLs selected for this explorative approach were artificially aged and control (non-aged) Vicia spp. seeds. Miran and his Team have already established a productive collaboration with UNIPV, with the aim to develop industrial cold plasma technologies for agriculture, particularly plasma-assisted seed priming. This green technology uses ionized gas to boost seed vigor, enhance water uptake, and reduce pathogens. Looking forward to see the results of the FORECAST-experiments!!!
