The Radiation Chemistry & EPR Spectroscopy Laboratory at the Department of Chemistry is held by Daniele Dondi who has a long-term expertise in biomass pyrolytic treatment and preparation of bioplastics from waste materials.

Dhanalakshmi Vadivel … The Team is working on plant materials discarded from orphan legumes cultivation to characterize the intrinsic chemical-physical properties, select the best candidate materials, depending on the desired applications (food- and non-food oriented products). The Team is working in synergy with Cinzia Calvio (Microbial Genetics Laboratory at the Department of Biology and Biotechnology) with long-term expertise in Bacillus subtilis genetic engineering/fermentation and sustainable use of agrifood wastes for biotechnology applications.
